For the last ten years, we have continuously chosen WKA for our family because of the freedom to express your faith. Teachers, administrators, and coaches pray with students and scripture is part of the curriculum. We take great comfort knowing that our sons are in a Christian environment while being challenged academically. This is just one of the many reasons why WKA continues to be an important part of our lives.

Academic History

W. Wyman King Academy opened its doors for the first time in 1972. Many parents, grandparents, and other concerned individuals wanted to create a school in this area that would offer the best possible environment for their children to be educated. They held to the belief that learning takes place best in a Christian environment where dedicated teachers maintain discipline in their classrooms while treating children with respect and requiring respect in return. Over the years, this has remained the philosophy of King Academy.

I have heard the phrase "King Family" many times, but it is truly a family. "In the spring of 2023 I was finishing my 11th year of teaching in public school. I was unhappy with my job and my 5 year old daughter was set to join me the next year as she was beginning kindergarten. A family member reached out and said WKA was hiring a 1st grade teacher. I was immediately interested! I prayed and asked God to work out all of the details if that was where our family was meant to be! Little did I know WKA also had a 3K class and my son could join my daughter and me! God worked out all of our needs! My two children and I have been at WKA for two years. We all love going to school every day! My children have thrived academically; they love learning thanks to their amazing teachers. As a teacher I feel supported by our administration, my co-workers and parents. We are so blessed to be a part of the WKA family!"
